As more Europeans look for information online and on social media, we reach out through different platforms, including Twitter, where we reached a big milestone with 1,000,000 followers!
As the internet and digital technologies transform our world, more and more of us are spending time online and on social media. According to the latest Eurostat data, more than half (54%) of the population in the 28 EU countries between the ages 16 to 74 years is on social media.
This week, we celebrate the milestone of reaching one million followers on our Twitter account. Our presence on social media reflects our commitment to communicate with citizens and this is at the heart of our day-to-day business. We are continuously adapting our communication to respond to the changing needs and habits of Europeans.
As part of the our outreach to citizens in the debate on the future of Europe, we have engaged through nearly 1200 citizens’ dialogues since 2015 and reached potentially 240 million Europeans since 2015 through town hall style meetings and live chats on social media. This has given us an opportunity to hear and understand different views and a strong positive momentum is driving us forward. So continue to engage and make your voices heard!
